Bummer

I am out of free photo storage on my picture trail account. I am also out of money for non-essentials so no upgrade right now. I guess I will have to learn new ways of posting my photos to the forums. I do have a Flickr acct with plenty of space left, not sure if it will work with the forums though. I ahve been working on some new makeovers I wanted to post along with a home tour when I get the house all ready for photos LOL. Hmmm, I'll have to think about this.

Long week!

It seems like a month has passed since my last post. We returned Marianne to her hubby and they are back home in Virginia. Just about 6 more weeks until our grandson arrives!
Our K kids started school this week. They only came for one day, 7 or 8 at a time. This gives us a chance to get to know them in small groups and do the required assessments. We have 24 boys and 7 girls this year! They are adorable. I am looking forward to getting into a regular routine with them.
Last Sunday was Rick's 21st birthday and today is Bill's 49th. My dad had his birthday on the 1st so August is an expensive month for me! Next paycheck is still 10 days away!

TGIF!

So happy it is Friday and I survived a week of inservice! LOL. It really wasn't bad at all, just hard getting back into the work day routine. My baby girl is home. We are having her baby shower tomorrow then taking her back to Pigeon Forge to meet her hubby who is doing a turnaround trip to Texas. They will be back on the road to Virginia Beach on Sunday. The next time I see her she will be a mom and I will be a "grammy" !

I'll post some pics of the shower when I get a chance. Have a great weeekend! :)

Good Thursday Morning!

I stayed up too late last night! After school I took Rick to Chattanooga. We stopped by the mall and a few other stores. Rick found a book that he wanted so I bought it for his birthday. He found several more of his Shadow Run series at the used book store. He bought those. :) I dug a few out of the free bin, including some for Ryan to use while homeschooling. I also found an autograph plate for Marianne's baby shower. We stopped by the Dairy Barn for Hurricanes on the way home. I love the German Chocolate Cake Hurricane. Yum! :)

Bill, Ryan and Marianne should be here when I get home from school this afternoon. I think we will go out for an early birthday dinner for Rick and Bill while Marianne is here. The shower is Saturday and she has to head back to Virginia on Sunday. I hope she and her family have had a nice vacation despite the heat.

More training today. I think its standards which seem to be forever changing. I just do my best and hope my students will too.
Have a great day!

Happy Hump Day!

Its Wednesday already! New student registration today. We should know more about our class sizes by this afternoon. rRght now I have about 12. More tech training today.
I went to Wally World and stocked up on Crayola Crayons and glue sticks while thay are cheap.
Can't have too many of these is Kindergarten!
I worked on a few things last night after dinner. I completed a wood compote. I painted it black, sanded down the edges and finished it with stain. It looks much better. I also did a duck head valet in black and a pictue frame in hunter green, finished with stain. Photos to follow!
Have a great day!

Back to school!

Yesterday was a work day for teachers. I went in at 7:30 and left at 3:30 and was pooped! I don't know why school work is so much more tiring than home work! Back to school this moring for more technology training. I took a couple of pics of my counrty classroom decor to share and of the rocking chair I painted last year at this time.

I did get a small second wind and painted a few things. I completed a small, green rack, and worked on something that I'm still not sure what it is. LOL. I am also learning to make cupboard prints using some pretty calendar pages.

Better get ready for the day! Have a great one!

Thrift Store therapy

So I was feeling a bit bummed after my husband and son left for the mountains. I decided I needed to see what our local Goodwill store had to offer. I hit the mother load of things to make over. For $18 and change I picked up a pair of sconces, a pair of candlesticks, 2 small shelves, a swan planter, a teacher bear, a lamp, a chamberstick, a book or bowl rack, a bread box, a gold candleholder with dish and new, wrapped candle, a wooden pedestle fruit/nut dish, an autum leaf dish and my mom fpund a pair of roosters in black and bronze for me! Most of it I will prim to sale but the breadbox, roosters and leaf dish, I will keep for me! Now to get out the paint and brushes and get busy!
